Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier was abducted in a cross border raid by the current Palestinian government and terrorist organisation Hamas in June 2006. He was 19.
Today marks his 6th birthday spent in captivity - imprisoned with no contact to the outside world - a total deprivation of any human rights. Not even the Red Cross has been able to visit him.
